To my knowledge, there aren’t any schools offering in-depth trainings in carving, sculpting, chisel-sharpening and gilding. Everyone on our team has learned these skills on the job. Back when we first started, we picked up a lot of know-how from other sign-makers. It’s always great to visit another sign-shop, and trade tips and advice, or just get inspired by someone else’s work.
Of course – as fun as it would be – it’s not possible to just pop in on sign-makers, designers and artists around the world. We have work to do, and so do they (not to mention the cost of travelling the globe). Luckily, the internet has done a lot to overcome the tyranny of distance, and artists and craftspeople can trade inspiration and ideas like never before.
‘It doesn’t matter which platform you’re using…they’re all going to benefit you. In my opinion, you might as well have an account across every single platform available…Because why not?!’ – Scott Biersack
Well, we certainly don’t have an account on every social media platform. There are hundreds, if not thousands of them. When we do something, we like to do it properly, so we post fairly regular updates on these forums:
If you like our work, have a question for us, or just want to say hello, please feel free to comment, ‘tweet’, ‘like’ or message us. We’d love to hear from you. After all, what’s the fun of making classy handcrafted signs without discussing all the finer minutiae and kicking around a few ideas? Our latest tweets and pins are visible at the right-hand side of this page, and you can even subscribe to this blog by just entering your email address into the little box at the right. We promise not to bombard you with boring emails, and we will never give your address to anyone else!
Look forward to hearing from you!
